- February 1st, 2012 by Robyn Carter | No Comments »
Madonna famously caused shock-waves at the 2003 MTV video awards when she locked lips with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. So will Madonna be giving rapper Nicki Minaj mouth- to- mouth during the Super Bowl half-time show?In an interview with Anderson Cooper, airing Friday, Madonna confirms she did kiss Nicki , on the set of the music video shoot for Madonna’s new single” Give Me All Your Luvin”, which also co –stars Minaj and M.I.A.
Madonna blamed it on champagne and Nicki’s birthday telling Anderson, “It was actually after one of those long days of shooting and we were all giving a birthday toast to her. And after a few sips of champagne, yes I did kiss her.”
Minaj first broke the news on Twitter back in December, right after the video shoot, tweeting her fans that Madonna had just kissed her on the lips. And Nicki said “It felt sooooo good.”
Madonna is debuting “Give Me All Your ” during the Super Bowl halftime show, both Minaj and M.I.A will be performing with her.

Her Madge-esty mines the Ex-Files to promote her new movie!
- January 31st, 2012 by Robyn Carter | No Comments »
Madonna continues to burn up the airwaves and the newsstands to promote her latest directorial effort, the film,’W.E.,’ based on one of the most scandalous royal love stories of the 20th century. The romance between American divorcee Wallis Simpson and Britain’s King Edward VIII, who gave up the throne for Mrs. Simpson.
Madonna rarely talks about her own love life, but she wants to keep making headlines until ‘W.E.’ opens Friday and she sings the last note of her Super Bowl performance on Sunday.

In the new issue of Newsweek, Madonna answers the question, what really caused her divorce from director Guy Ritchie in 2008 after ten years of marriage? Madge says it just wasn’t perfect anymore. Yup, that what she says.
Madonna reveals “I was certainly asking the kind of existential questions that I think people ask when they have been married that long: what is perfect love? Madonna admits to Newsweek, she was disillusioned saying that in the beginning, “The person you married is flawless and you’re flawless. Then time goes by, and you share a life, you have children, and there are cracks in the veneer. It’s not as romantic as it used to be”
Madonna, welcome to the REAL WORLD of relationships.

After the SAG Awards, the Oscar race just got interesting!

Just when you thought George Clooney was a lock to win Best Actor at the upcoming Academy Awards and Meryl Streep, good as gold to win Best Actress, The SAG awards may have changed everything.
With French actor, Jean Dujardin, shockingly beating out Golden Globe- winning Clooney and Brad Pitt, for the Best Actor prize and Viola Davis’ stunning upset, besting Golden Globe winner Meryl Streep for Best Actress, the upcoming Oscar derby just got more interesting.
Handicappers now think Dujardin will win the Oscar for his performance in the silent film “The Artist” and Davis could inch past Streep‘s “The Iron Lady”, for her role in “The Help.” I am still going with Meryl, since she has been nominated for 17 Oscars and has not won one –since Sophie’s Choice in 1982.
It looks like Clooney’s movie “The Descendant’s, also a Golden Globe favorite, could easily loose the Best Picture race to “The Help,” which took home SAG trophies for Best Ensemble and Best Supporting Actress for Octavia Spencer. While the Golden Globes are often seen as an indicator of who will win the Oscar, the SAG awards offer other big clues, because they are voted on by Actors, who make up the largest member of the Academy.

To All the Single Ladies: Divorced men want to put a ring on it!
- January 30th, 2012 by Robyn Carter | No Comments »
I have not found his to be true in my own post-divorce dating experiences, but a new study reported in today’s London Daily Mail, finds divorced men are twice as likely to get remarried than their ex-spouses. And they are also willing to pay for advice to help them get back on the marry-go-round.
The study was conducted to celebrate the DVD release of the Warner Brothers movie, ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love”. Of the reported 2,000 adults polled, 47 percent of the divorced men said, they would be willing to “put a ring on it” again. Only 20 percent of the divorcees interviewed said they want to get married again.

In the movie, smooth as silk pickup artist, Ryan Gosling shows a newly-split and beyond nerdy Steve Carrell, how to get his game back on with the ladies. A shocking 42 percent of the men polled in this study said they would PAY to have a little tutoring from a dating chaperone like Gosling’s character.
Wow, most of the divorced men I know think they just have to get on an online dating site and they are good to go. No expert advice needed.
Also, a lot of the men I know who have had to move out of their martial homes into apartments, who have to pay child support and alimony, are afraid to get married again because of the financial toll it takes. They are scared even if there is a pre-nup. I dated a divorced man whose mantra was, “more than half of second marriages end up in divorce.” Guess he was not included in this poll!

The Supersized heartache behind Superstar Splits!

Imagine you and your husband are breaking up. He has cheated on you and now is off gallivanting with a new love or loves, in real time, covered by the mass media. Pretty devastating, right. Anyone who has gone through a divorce or a break-up knows what a stab to the heart it can be; now imagine it being played out on the global stage.
This is what Demi Moore is now going through and Jennifer Anniston before her. Both highly-sensational splits making for daily and hourly tabloid fodder.
For most of us when we split, we do not, mercifully get to see pictures and twitter updates of what our estranged partner is doing. Imagine how that increases the pain to the tenth power.
The Jen Anniston/ Brad Pitt break up was rock candy for the media and gossip fans. From the actual split to the not-so-secret Brad and Angelina hook –up after they co-starred in Mr. and Mrs. Smith— to the undercover birth of their first biological child Shiloh in Namibia. It was a running Soap Opera for over a year, first with daily headlines about Brad and Angie’s hide and seek love story to their crowning as the most beautiful couple in the world. And cover after cover of entertainment news magazines, questioning why Jen couldn’t hold on to a man.
Can you imagine Jennifer Anniston’s anguish? Public humiliation on top of her private pain. To this day she is compared to Angelina Jolie, who is sexier? Who rocked it better on the red carpet? Will Jennifer forever be haunted by comparisons to the woman who replaced her? Star magazine now with this screaming headline, “Jen wants Brad back”! Really, even though she in dating Justin Theroux
No ex-wife deserves this, even if she is a star.
Now enter Demi Moore into Hollywood’s roll call of devastated ex’s. With Ashton Kutcher partying only weeks after the split with tweet pics to prove it. He seems to be eagerly showing the world how he has moved on with break-neck speed after reportedly cheating on Demi. What could be worse? Is it any wonder Demi landed in the hospital and needs help coping with her own very public divorce drama? Demi has already had to endure headlines that she was too old for Ashton, that it could never have lasted and that even her alleged plastic surgery could not help her hold on to her much younger husband.
Then the shocking Demi 911 call for everyone to hear. And now Demi is said to be devastated that all this has forced her to pull out of her cameo role in the upcoming movie ‘Lovelace’, being replaced by Sarah Jessica Parker.
Poor Demi. Yes, breaking up in Hollywood is very, very hard to do.

On Tuesday night, EXTRA aired a beautiful story about the Creative Visions Foundation in Malibu, California. A foundation started and run by Kathy Eldon, and her daughter Amy, supporting Creative Activists around the globe, who are using media; art and documentaries, to effect change. The Creative Visions Foundation was founded by Kathy Eldon, in honor of the legacy of her son, Dan Eldon. At age 22, Dan became the youngest photo journalist ever hired by Reuters. His images were the first to document the famine and violence in Somlia in 1993, which led to American intervention. Dan was an incredibly special young man. Unfortunately, he was killed while telling the story. That led his sister Amy to produce a documentary about the risk journalists take to document the news , called ” Dying to tell the Story”. Seeing Hall & Oates at the Hollywood Bowl, on Sunday, July 3rd, was the true HIGHLIGHT of my Holiday Weekend!
Not only did H&O deliver greatest hits, like, “Maneater”, “She’s Gone”, “Rich Girl” and “Sarah Smile”—they also raised the proverbial roof on the open- air amphitheater, with a new arrangement of ” I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do”) — that was nothing short of amazing!
The longer arrangement of the blockbuster hit, with a rockin’ jam at the end, was the Showstopper! It felt like it had an all new sensuality to it, the electricity in the crowd was palpable, people were dancing in their seats, from that moment on! (more…)
